Hardscaping
Patios, walkways, steps and retaining walls in interlock, natural stone and armour stone, built on a base designed for our freeze-thaw winters.
What we build
Patios and walkways
Interlocking pavers, slabs and natural stone, laid on a properly compacted base with the drainage sorted before the first stone goes down.
Retaining walls
Segmental block and armour stone, built for the height and the load behind them, with drainage and geogrid where the wall needs it.
Steps and edges
Steps, landings, curbs and edge restraints — the details that decide whether the patio still looks right after five winters.

The base is the job
Most of what goes wrong with hardscape in this climate goes wrong underneath it. Excavation depth, the right granular, compaction in lifts, and somewhere for water to go.
We are a Techo-Bloc Certified Pro Contractor, so every base is built the way the manufacturers say it should be.

Priced stage by stage
Excavation, base, edge restraint, stone, jointing and clean-up are each priced on their own line, so you can see where the money goes and decide what stays in.
Hardscaping questions
What makes a patio or walkway last?
The base. Most failures come from too little excavation, poor compaction or no drainage, not from the stone itself. We build the base for local soil and freeze-thaw conditions before a single paver goes down.
What materials do you install?
Interlocking pavers, natural stone, armour stone walls and segmental retaining wall systems. We’re a Techo-Bloc Pro certified installer and install products from all the leading paver and wall manufacturers.
How long does a typical patio take?
An average patio takes two to five working days. Most of that time goes into what you won’t see: excavation, base and compaction. That’s where a patio’s value is.
Do retaining walls need an engineer?
Our retaining walls are installed to manufacturer guidelines. Taller walls, walls supporting driveways, buildings or steep slopes, and some site conditions may require engineering and/or a permit. When a wall needs it, we bring in an engineer or confirm the engineering requirements with the manufacturer.
Do you offer a warranty on hardscaping?
Yes. Our hardscape installations carry a two-year warranty.
Can you fix a patio or wall someone else installed?
Yes. We regularly repair and rebuild sunken, heaving or failing hardscapes, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a repair or a rebuild makes more sense.
